Toadstool Earrings

Dangly drop earrings featuring those iconic little red spotty mushrooms, or toadstools, one of the quintessential motifs of a fairy tale woodland.

About the earrings: These sterling silver drop earrings each have a tiny toadstool charm with a red spotty glass top and handcrafted silver stalk. The image used in the glass charm is from a real original photograph of a Fly Agaric fungus, so the spots are irregular as they naturally would be.
Each silver toadstool measures approximately 8mm x 12mm and hangs, at angle, from a 15mm silver chain. The earrings have simple fishhook fittings.
Please note each little toadstool charm will differ, the stalks are made free-form from recycled silver pieces, allowing them to have the organic shape much like the real fungi which vary from mushroom to mushroom.

Toadstool facts and symbolism: The toadstools found in fairy tales are modelled on the on the 'Fly Agaric' or 'Amanita Muscaria,’ probably the most beautiful autumn fungi. The red little hats of our garden gnomes, and of the Scandinavian ‘Tomte’ is said to be due to the Fly Agaric and represents to potent force of nature. In Germany it’s known as ‘Glückspilz’ which translates as ‘lucky mushroom’ and is said to be a symbol of good fortune.
