A pretty, classic sterling silver necklace celebrating a special British wildflower, the periwinkle.
About the necklace Each of the five charms that make up the chain of periwinkles at the centre of this piece, is made from a tiny image, set under glass and into sterling silver.
At a distance, this necklace may look like a row of pastel blue gems. Closer, the distinctive pinwheel shape of the petals is revealed and the charms look like they enclose miniature versions the real thing, the pattern warping and changing when view at different angle through the convex glass.
The necklace is finished with a simple, long oval link sterling silver cable chain and lobster clasp. The total length of the necklace is 18” (45.7cm) so will typically sit on the collarbone.
Materials: 925 sterling silver, glass.
Periwinkle symbolism: The periwinkle is the flower of friendship. Also a symbol of strength and longevity, the flower is given to newlyweds in some cultures.
